In the tragedy of the democratic process this morning Thursday, April 25th, 2019, at about 10.45am, the internal security forces, in implementation of the decision of the Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) and Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, stormed the headquarters of Nessma TV by force, cutting off the broadcast and destroying the channel's technical equipment. This television private channed was launched for first time on March 16th, 2007 in the old regime of ZABA former president of Tunisia and Marks today 12 years old of broadcasting in the sector of private media, and is owned by the Tunisian businessman Nabil Karoui, the man who is surrounded by doubts and many questions from the government side, forcing the latter to move and stop the broadcast after previous alerts to the channel. The closure of a media outlet today in an arbitrary manner and the prohibition of all journalists from joining their work is a review of the police muscles that the Tunisian media did not witness even in the most repressive dictatorships. The troops destroyed the broadcasting equipment and Internet in a planned political strategy especially before the upcoming presidential elections and the the month of Saint of Ramadan that is considered as a refreshment season for every private media in Tunisia in the advertisement door. Which according to the authorities concerned that the channel of Nessma have a collective activity and political orientation is not in line with the wishes of the future of the government...
The roadworks drilling and construction for the reinstallation of the ex-Leader of Tunisia Habib Bourguiba as the street name has given for his glorious name which is still until today very known globally. The first president who passed away since decade, has left back to him a lot of criticism even after his death... Last May 3rd, the the statue was lifted from the entrance of the city of La Gouluette after its removal completely from the center of the capital Avenue Habib Bourguiba on the end of 1987 as announced by the Ministry of Equipment, viz before the rule of the former president until 2011, January 14th. The street works were started for about a month ago or more from the writing of this blog post and the official inauguration will be announced for this new monument the next June 1st at the occasion of the memory of the late leader's return from exile in 1955 to Tunisia, as this was known during the long stage victory of the Bourguibism in that time. It is noteworthy that the Presidency has decided to restore the monument to the famous streets of the capital to rehabilitate the Leader Habib Bourguiba, the first president of the Republic of Tunisia and the leader of the fight for independence.
