October 17th, 2015, unforgettable day for me especially and to all participants of the Photo Marathon's event which was held in three cities from the world; Beirut. Naples and for the first time in Tunis. I woke up early in the morning and it was the weekend, you may say that I had an great energy to be ready all the day that it was really abnormal hot and very sunny. Hopefully I wasn't alone but with my dear friend and colleague Ghassen, we encouraging both to participate to this competition for the big love of the world of the photography. We arriving to the official local where we all going to start at 9 am. A dozens of Photo Marathoners were ready, I and Ghassen when we entered the local and seeing them having a professional cameras, we were really afraid at first glance, just because funnily we are coming with our smartphones no more 7 Mp for the image quality... But then, I told my friend that we must be strong for the reason that we are the only candidates we're going to spend about 12 hours between the streets and must confidently ending the adventure with success and no problem that we will win nothing. Just like this we started the challenge by completing our 12 themes in 12 hours, happening at the same time in three capitals... *NOTE: To see my photos I participated with please direct your mouse to "PHOTOGRAPHY" section in the site, the open "PHOTO MARATHON" page, a new tab will open that contains my profile of the event.
So, it was about 10 pm, mission accomplished, we were so tired of walking of miles in the streets, looking for the nice and smart picture that matches with our subjects in the hands, we sometimes are arresting by the police asking us why are we capturing things are not allowed to do... Some difficulties we are facing during the Photo Marathon's day, that enables me from time to time to take a photo secretly for the success of mission, I was obliged to do like that, if not I'll get failed...
WHAT WAS THE PHOTO "MARATHON"?
FRAME, L’Asilo, and Pacte Tunisien are teaming up to bring you the 2015 Photo Marathon. Across the Mediterranean region, photographers will take to the streets to simultaneously document 12 themes in 12 hours resulting in a collection of photos depicting one day in the life of Beirut, Naples, and Tunis. Together, we will document our cities, people, and communities to produce a rich archive through the eyes of large and diverse groups. The photos that are produced over the span of 12 hours will provide a rich resource to learn about each other and to spot our similarities and differences through the creativity and language of photography.

From this great and beautiful short experience but with a long day of the photography with my simple smartphone I have used during the competition, I have learned so many things, like being patient and really smart with just not having a professional camera and high quality but you need to control your time wisely and the exact time of taking a picture as how you want it to be...
Big and special thanks to the organizers of the Photo Marathon from Tunisia, Zeineb and Sarah Ben Hamadi, Asma Azzabi from le Pacte Tunisien and all other members I can't really remember their names, mentioning the IgersTunisia page on Instagram.
'Gender-based violence' and 'violence against women' are terms that are often used interchangeably as most gender-based violence is inflicted by men on women and girls. However, it is important to retain the 'gender-based' aspect of the concept as this highlights the fact that violence against women is an expression of power inequalities between women and men. On December 6th, is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against in Canada in that I want to mention this blog post that the subject is related to the same issue. So this marks the anniversary of the murders of 1989 of 14 young women at l'Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal. They died because they were women. Last Friday December 4th, I was attending at the American embassy an interesting discussion about gender-based violence. I was really proud about our two young women Ahlem Nasraoui and Dorra Mlouhi, that they were talking with enthusiasm about their experiences and how are they working on this issue to avoid many things could happen to the fair-sex especially and focusing to fight against this kind of violence... *Dorra Mlouhi:Dorra Mlouhi is a technical Project Manager at TunpiXel. She serves as a Google student ambassador in the Middle East and North Africa region. Ms. Mlouhi works to empower women through technology and coding, and has visited many countries as part of her activism. *Ahlem Nasraoui:Ahlem Nasraoui is a Tunisian blogger, social entrepreneur and activist. As an activist she works for human rights and the universal rights of prosperity, education and a healthy environment. She is also the founder of the Young Leaders entrepreneurs association. Ms. Nasraoui works to support women’s empowerment and coaches young women to be independent, conscious of their rights, as well as to understand the legal and historical backgrounds of the gains and struggles of women in Tunisia. Let's thank from here the embassy for giving such a young people who are activists and encouraging them to talk freely about their projects, ideas and or somethings are different with an important issues to solve problems and discuss them into public. It is really a proud to hear them talking about like this subject of gender based-violence. Good luck for both of you in your future!
I am really excited to attend a real discussion about the Citizen Journalism in Tunisia that it is unliked from professionals of the media and people are coming from universities and others with diplomas, but with fake skills and non-professionalism. Next Wednesday, December 16th, I'll attend to the embassy with Dr. Hedi Zaouchi as one the citizen journalists practising this role from Tunisia and by trying to share all what is around my country to the world and English speakers using the internet and technologies that everyone can use it via the web. The event will focus on the real Facts, Perspectives and Challenges of the Citizen Journalism. Click here to know more. I've been waiting for this discussion for along time as a tunisian citizen journalist, this term of journalism is not welcome in Tunisia by most of professionals... Thanks to the embassy of giving young people practicing this kind of media which already helped people from abroad...
Was attending to the searching online for the right American university at the US embassy in Tunis12/6/2015
Last September, Friday 19th, I was attending an education session at the American embassy with some people of the same age, I was really excited to know more about this special event offered from the embassy to me. I'd love then to know more about how we can get the chance to study and continuing our educations in one of the big universities in the USA.
I want to note something and as blogger and Youtuber, I'd love to share with you more enough about this day by filming and may have the coverage but all materials such as camera and others were not allowed inside the embassy, there was a big security.
This session was conducted by the advisor Meriam Laabid provided attendees with useful tips on how to search for colleges and universities that match applicants’ academic needs and aspirations, how to choose the best graduate program, and whether college rankings matter or not. Participants were introduced to a myriad of websites to help them through the process of applying for financial aid as an international student. Not sure where to start? Check out the following website for further updates https://educationusa.state.gov.
EducationUSA sessions are held every month at the IRC to educate students and future applicants on the U.S. university system and how to apply for and pursue higher education in the United States.
